About the Artist Jane Pomeroy-Luckenbach, (1915-2004), was a well-known Illinois artist who specialized in watercolors, oils pastels and woodcuts. She studied at the School of Design and the Art Department of Southern Illinois University and then attended the Luis Commitzer International School of Graphics in Italy. Of the various artists she studied under, one of note was Noreen TenEyke. Her work has been widely exhibited in Chicago, New Orleans, at the New Orleans Jazz Museum; at the King and Prince Hotel in Saint Simons Island, Georgia; and several places around Illinois, including a 1989 show at MacMurray College Mobil Art Gallery and a very successful show at Strawn Art Gallery in February, 2003. Mrs. Pomeroy-Luckenbach spent much time in Italy with her daughter. She loved to paint city scenes of Florence and the countryside around her daughter's residence, Casi di Ghirlandaio, overlooking the city of Florence, Italy.
